Welcome to the Jewish Community of Louisville
This is our new, comprehensive web resource for information about Louisville’s Jewish community!
We hope you’ll take a few moments to take a look around. We’re still in the first stages of site development, but there’s plenty to see—with more added nearly every week.
- Listings for most of Louisville’s Jewish agencies, organizations, synagogues and temples, along with links to their websites.
- The latest news and information about upcoming events, activities and classes throughout the Jewish community, in town and around the country.
- A local community calendar, where each of Louisville’s Jewish groups can post up-to-date information about their activities—with a simple search feature to make finding what you’re looking for much easier.

You may not find everything you need just yet, but check back often as we grow. We at the Jewish Community of Louisville are committed to making this site a valuable and practical resource for everyone in our area. Please feel free to contact us if you have questions, comments, or if there’s something you’d like to see on our site. Thanks for visiting!

2010 JCL Annual Campaign
Thanks to all the volunteers who helped with Super Sunday. That day, $195,940 was raised. Volunteers are continuing to make calls. If you have not yet made your commitment to the 2010 JCL Annual Campaign, please give from your heart when a volunteer calls – or donate online today.
Our Campaign theme this year is Faith in Our Future, and as we look at our community today, we can see progress. The JCL has good news to share. Kesher Kentucky, the leadership development program for teens is back. Interested 10th and 11th graders need to apply by March 15. Also, the JCL is introducing PJ Plus for children in K-2. PJ Plus will offer age appropriate group Jewish activities for children, like The PJ Library does for children ages 6 months-6 years. The first PJ Plus program is a Seder plate painting project on March 7.
Programs like Kesher Kentucky and PJ Plus depend on the JCL Annual Campaign for support. The women of the Lion of Judah and Pomegranate Divisions are invited to a thank you event on March 7. YAD members have now raised $40,000 in their efforts to meet the L’dor Vador Challenge Grant. They have only $7,000 more to go. In addition to being a division of the Annual Campaign, YAD offers young adults a way to connect with the Jewish community. A YAD social event is scheduled for March 20.
